Cash donations are welcomed and may be sent to the
Oronoco Food Shelf PO Box 118 Oronoco 55960 We will use the cash to purchase food – we can purchase through Channel One for likely a lot less than you can at the grocery store. Plus we have a good idea of what the greatest needs are compared to what we already have in stock. |
That said, if you find a deal out there… donations of food or paper goods may be made before the food shelf opens or during that time or call us to arrange a drop off.
Some of the greatest needs are personal items – like shampoo and deodorant, laundry items, paper towels, as well as food items like cereal, and coffee. We have one community member that has dropped off toilet paper each month for years!

The third way you can donate is through a food drive with your neighbors. Sometimes this is great (like amazingly great!), sometimes this results in odd, expired items that can’t be used and no one ever really chooses off the shelf. If you do a food drive, give suggestions and help us with quality control if you can. We really have all the dried beans and whole wheat pasta that we will EVER use. =-)
Also, if you are a local business. Or have an ‘in’ with a local business that could help us out with donations in some way – either food or for our operation, we’d LOVE to talk to you. We are a 501c3.
