What will it be like?
Everyone is welcome! You’ll find warm, friendly faces ready to help you out.
Drive up, park, and enter the main door at the middle of the church. Inside you’ll find drinks, snacks, and a table to sit at while you wait for your turn to shop. There seems to be no shortage of conversation and laughter here.
We use a random number system so there no rush. When your number is called, you can head downstairs to shop our little market area. There are shelves of boxed and canned goods, personal items, snacks, a dairy case, frozen meats, fresh fruits and vegetables. We even have some baby items.
When you’re ready, we’ll weigh your items and ask the number in the household you're shopping for.
We have volunteers ready to carry your box and bags out to your car for you.
We are open every 2 weeks (2nd & 4th Wednesday 5-6:30pm).
Do stop in, it’s a sweet community of neighbors helping neighbors.
TIP: If you would rather not wait upstairs, come closer to 6pm when most have come and gone.

What will I receive?
A box of pantry goods and 3 bags of fresh/frozen groceries, or more if your family is larger. We usually have milk, eggs, butter, bread, peanut butter & jelly, cheese, ground beef and other meat options, cereal, pasta and sauces, frozen meals, canned vegetables and fruits, canned soups, snacks and treats.
It depends on the season, but often we have fresh vegetables and at least one fresh fruit option.
Life can be tough; we really don’t want you to have to worry about food too.

How do I sign up and does it cost?
Right now, there isn't a need for registration. We'll just ask for your zip code and the number of people in the household that you are shopping for (seniors, adults, children).
There is no cost.

What if I need help?
We’re here!
We love our community and want everyone to thrive.
Here’s how we can help if you need a little extra assistance -
Personal Shopper: if stairs are hard for you to do, we will line you up with a computer screen where you can talk to your own personal shopper as they grab what you ask for in the market area. We will bring it upstairs and out to your car.
Delivery: contact Lance at 507-421-034zero and he can arrange to have someone deliver items to your home in the Oronoco area or surrounding community during the times that we are open. Or click here to send us an email.

What has changed with the Covid-19 Pandemic?
We will have the option drive-through curbside service. You can stay in your car while volunteers take care of everything. We have prepacked boxes (3 options: easy prep, kid-friendly, or healthy mix) for you to choose from plus bags of frozen, dairy, and produce. Yes, we'll take any requests you may have.
If you want to park and shop in-person. Know that we use masks, gloves, disinfecting wipes, and do our best to keep volunteers spaced 6’ apart in the building. We will limit the number of shoppers at one time too.

Where does all the food and stuff come from?
Well, three places really.
First is from the Channel One regional food bank. We select and order what we need from them each month.
Second is your neighbors in Oronoco. We live in a generous community. We receive gifts of money and goods that we use to buy whatever might be needed. We really are neighbors helping neighbors.
We use the fund to buy whatever we don't get from the other 2 places. Each week a volunteer goes shopping to fill in any bare spots on the shelves. Members of the church are really great about supplying bread and other extra items (like candy in October!) too.
